How to Get Redstone Dust
- 1Mine Redstone Ore with an iron pickaxe or better
- 2Dropped by Witches on death
- 3Found in Dungeon, Mineshaft, Stronghold, and Village chests
- 4Sold by Cleric villagers
Tips for Finding Redstone Dust
- Redstone ore generates in the same layers as diamond, peaking at Y -59
- Each ore block drops 4-5 Redstone Dust (more with Fortune)
- Much more common than diamond ore at the same Y-levels
- Witches drop up to 6 Redstone Dust; they spawn in Witch Huts (Swamp biome) or during raids

Signal strength decreases by 1 for each block of redstone dust. Used in crafting many redstone components.
