Where to Find Trial Key in Minecraft

Trial Key is associated with Trial Chambers (deep underground), and that is the whole map for Trial Key. Mine at the Y -40 to -20 range when you are after Trial Key, since digging above or below that band mostly wastes the trip you took. The relevant structure, a Trial Chamber, generates deep underground in the Overworld and is built from copper, tuff, and exposed blocks of these materials, a useful visual cue while caving. Trial Spawners drop a Trial Key once all spawned mobs are defeated. Use on Trial Vaults to claim rewards (each vault can only be opened once per player). In total, Trial Key can reach your inventory through collecting it as a mob drop and looting it from generated structure chests, so you can pick whichever path your current world makes easiest.

Nothing clever is needed for Trial Key, and the method is straightforward: get it as a drop from mobs from Trial Spawners in Trial Chambers. Trial Chambers have multiple Trial Spawners with different mob types. The key does not open Ominous Vaults; those require Ominous Trial Keys. Since Trial Key comes off a mob, the Looting enchantment on your sword raises both the chance and the number that drop, and building or finding a spawn area of your own turns it into a renewable supply rather than a one-off kill.
