Where to Find Mace in Minecraft

Look in Trial Chambers (deep underground) for Mace, because no other biome on our list carries Mace. Vertically Mace is tied to the Y -40 to -20 range, which is the band to dig in rather than wandering at random depths for Mace. The relevant structure, a Trial Chamber, generates deep underground in the Overworld and is built from copper, tuff, and exposed blocks of these materials, a useful visual cue while caving. Trial Chambers generate deep underground, often near Deepslate level. Use /locate structure trial_chambers in creative or look for copper-heavy underground structures. In total, Mace can reach your inventory through collecting it as a mob drop and looting it from generated structure chests, so you can pick whichever path your current world makes easiest.

The most reliable way to get Mace is to craft it at a Crafting Table from Heavy Core and Breeze Rod: 2 ingredients, a fixed grid, and no luck involved anywhere. Crafting Mace needs Heavy Core (claim it from an Ominous Vault inside a Trial Chamber) and Breeze Rod (kill a Breeze in a Trial Chamber), and each of those has its own place in the world to come from. The Breeze mob spawns exclusively from Trial Spawners inside Trial Chambers. Heavy Core is a rare drop from Ominous Vaults, requiring an Ominous Trial Key. The mace negates all fall damage on a successful hit and deals bonus damage based on fall distance. A sword with Looting pays for itself when you are after Mace, and a dedicated spawner or a dark room makes the drop repeatable instead of lucky, which is the difference between one and a chest full. Remember that Mace does not stack: every one you pick up takes an inventory slot of its own, nine of them fill the hotbar and 27 fill a chest, so bring storage if you plan to collect several. Worth noting on the version of Mace: Added in 1.21 (Tricky Trials Update). Given how rare Mace is, most players treat each one as a milestone, so it is worth keeping it safe in an ender chest until you are ready to put it to use.
