   How do you get Rail in Minecraft?

   Rail is crafted from Iron Ingot and Stick at a Crafting Table, and each craft returns 16. It also comes from chest loot, and Rail from mining, not just the recipe above.

   How long does Rail take to break?

   The two numbers behind Rail are 0.7 for mining and 0.7 against explosions. Since neither figure on Rail is raised, it behaves the same under a pickaxe and under a blast. Use a pickaxe on Rail to speed it up; no particular tier is required. Java 26.2 defines Rail here, so no timing of our own went into it.

   Where do you find Rail in chests?

   Rail is chest loot in one place and one only: abandoned mineshaft chests (about 70%, 4 to 8 at a time). No other generated chest lists it, so that single structure is the whole search, and every other chest in the game will disappoint you.

   How many Rail can you stack?

   24 Iron Ingot and 4 Stick is what 64 Rail costs, since each one returns 16, so filling a single slot is 4 crafts.

   What is Rail used for?

   Basic track for minecarts that can run straight, turn 90 degrees, and slope up or down. Crafting yields 16 rails.
